Welcome to "how to improve your hip mobility" 3 part series! This series is geared towards hockey players, more specifically the goalies however, we all know how important it is to have good hip mobility. The importance of hip mobility isn't just for the sake of your hips themselves. The hips are where we drive most of our power from as athletes and human beings. But, if we start to lose the ability to control and propel movement out of our hips, it could end up having a domino effect on other joints, tissues and body parts above and below, which could lead to injuries. This means that having flexible, mobile hips is so important for overall health, mobility and injury prevention.
If you've ever watched any of the incredible saves on the highlights, you will see goaltenders displaying their great mobility. Today we're going to focus on improving and unlocking hip mobility.
I recommend trying these videos in order of sequence as you want to make sure you have control of your hips in the deeper ranges before moving into the more loaded body weight progressions. If you found these videos helpful, make sure to share with anyone else who may benefit from it. Get ready to unlock your hips so that you can start dominating every shift you step out on the ice for!
